In his quest for a natural, more intuitive way to design golf courses,
Eric Oranen of GolfTechs decided that the freeform modeling
approach used by Daylon Graphics in its digital terrain modeling
systems was the answer. Thus the birth of TerrainTek.
The partnership of these two powerhouses brings together a wealth
of experience in golf course design production and digital terrain modeling.

Eric Oranen is president of
Golf Techs,
a leading production company that provides construction and marketing
documents to the golf course design industry. As a ten-year veteran, he
knows its goals and needs.
As the former Production Manager for Nicklaus Design, Eric managed
various production projects — small and large — for ten
design associates and twenty design coordinators.
Drawing upon his strong knowledge of golf course design and team management,
Eric was a driving force behind the development and implementation of a
proprietary CAD software.
Originally from New Braunfels, Texas, Eric earned a
Bachelor’s Degree from Texas State University.
He also has numerous years of experience working in the
civil engineering field.
Eric lives with his wife Cathy in North Palm Beach where GolfTechs is headquartered.

Ray Gardener is the administrator of
Daylon Graphics,
the software company that produces the general-purpose Leveller™
terrain/heightfield modeler. Since 1998, Leveller has been the choice
of professionals as well as hobbyists working with terrain, bumpmaps,
displacement maps and other surface geometries. The project gave Ray
the means to try out new ideas in greater quality control in
object-oriented software development, and to make terrain modeling
more accessible to end users.
Starting as a commercial graphic artist, Ray's career went on
to include QA, programming and systems analysis at
Top Producer Systems, helping Corel Corp.
port Corel DRAW! to the Apple Macintosh,
and improving the software tools at Electronic Arts Canada.
Originally from Montreal, he now resides in Vancouver.
